ABOUT EVERETT, WA

Everett, WA, is the county seat of and is the largest city in Snohomish County in the State of Washington. With a population of 111,262 strong, it is the sixth-largest community in-state with an average of 3200+ people per square mile. For many, living in Everett is ideal because it offers easy access to local amenities, has great attractions for locals and tourists, and is conveniently situated close to Canada to the north and the more bustling Seattle to the south.

Fun Fact #1: Hockey is big in Everett. The city is home to the Everett Silvertips, which regularly perform in the Angel of the Winds Arena.

Everett is an excellent place for families. It’s strategically located so that it’s not a terrible drive to the big city (a one-way commute takes an average of 28 minutes) but still feels very much like a small town. Parks, beaches, and trails are reasonably commonplace for quality time outdoors, and standard amenities like shopping malls, restaurants, and stores are not in short supply. The local school district oversees 32 schools, each having an average of 20 students per classroom. As a bonus, home prices are significantly more affordable than those in the surrounding cities, the majority of which start at $131,000 for detached single property homes, and cap at $525,000.

Fun Fact #2: The Port of Everett Marina has more than 2,300 boat slips, making it an ideal haven for boat-owners.

Though Everett is relatively more peaceful than neighboring Seattle, there’s no shortage when it comes to activities and points of interest to explore. For one, there is Howarth Park, a marina where you can stretch your legs and get a good view of the Olympic Mountains while relaxing. Wallace Falls State Park is another famous recreation spot where you can go picnicking, bird-watching, or be one with mother nature for a few minutes each day. If you’re of the adventurous sort, nearby Jetty Island is a hotspot for kiteboarders, especially around the summer. Those with young children can also enjoy the exhibits at the Imagine Children’s Museum, an art and recreation facility that features a water play area, an art studio, and other fun play activities.

Fun Fact #3: All of Jetty Island’s 2-mile stretch of beach territory is human-made.

Everett has long-standing ties to the aviation industry. It is the home of Boeing Future of Flight, the largest aircraft production site in the nation. Located in Paine Field, the site produces the company’s main line of 777 and 787 wide-body airplane models used by most commercial airlines. But the city has a lot more going on than just it’s involvement with the aircraft giant. It’s also long been a hub for aviation buffs looking to learn more about the city’s storied relationship with flight, or so the owners of the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum – a local repository of WWII planes – will tell you. From time to time, tourists and families will also flock to the Museum of Flight Restoration Center, where they hold guided tours showcasing antique planes and other aviation-related artifacts.
